Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor as well as producer and director. Her name has been acknowledged for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, like an Oscar for the film Piano. Her career in acting started in Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. It has always been her love of life. In the fifth grade she played Helen Keller in an original play. She became deaf in one ear due to mumps but did not let this disability dampen her determination to become an actor. As a young woman she studied drama in the college level and then moved from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh to pursue her ambitions. Hunter met Beth Henley by chance in a lift. Together they composed Broadway Crimes of the Heart. This was Hunter's acting debut. As she relocated into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find movie roles. An supporting role was securing in Swing Shift. For the past 30 years, she has appeared on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
